如今，全球越来越多的人受到全球化的影响。在日常生活中，人们可以享受异国情调的事物，包括来自不同国家的美食和不同的文化魅力（Giddens 20）。由于国际化，学习如何说外语非常重要（Kramsch 296）。作为在美国学习的中国学生，根据我个人的经验，我已经从多方面讲英语作为外语受益匪浅。
Nowadays, an increasing number of people around the world are influenced by the globalization. In daily life, people can enjoy the exotic things, including food from different countries and different cultural charms (Giddens 20). Due to the internationalization, it is important to learn how to speak foreign languages (Kramsch 296). As a Chinese student studying in the United States, I have already benefited a lot from speaking English as a foreign language in several aspects based on my own personal experience.

作为来自中国的美国高中生，说英语为我的学习提供了很多便利。没有说一口流利英语的能力，我什至无法在美国过好生活，也无法在美国高中学习。此外，作为一名精通英语作为外语的中国学生，我结交了许多对中国文化或中国历史充满好奇的朋友。由于能够说英语，我可以与对中国感兴趣的朋友讨论与中国有关的这些话题。在那之后，他们中的大多数人现在成了我的朋友，这应该归功于他们实际说英语的能力。此外，我有一个会说一点中文的朋友。他还从说很多中文中受益。一个明显的优势是，他有很多中国朋友，甚至与中国朋友做生意，这对他的生活意义重大。实际上，我的商业思维也对说英语有益。在说英语作为外语的帮助下，我可以通过阅读相关的英语书籍和杂志来及时了解美国的最新商业趋势。目前，我已经计划了基于跨国贸易的未来业务计划。我相信说英语的能力对我实现自己的商业计划将是有利的。除了结识朋友和与美国人做生意外，说英语对我了解美国文化也很有帮助。当我学习英语时，我读了一些英语书，看了很多英语戏剧，这些戏剧将在各个方面展示美国文化。因此，我认为说英语可以帮助人们同时学习美国文化，这将在一定程度上拓宽演讲者的视野。然后，广阔的视野可以帮助包括我在内的这些英语讲者，根据不同文化的综合考虑，提出更多的新想法。
As a high school student in America coming from China, speaking English provides me with a lot of convenience in studying and learning. Without the ability to speak fluent English, I even could not live well in America and am impossible to study in American high school. Moreover, as a Chinese student who masters English as a foreign language, I make a lot of friends who are curious about Chinese cultures or Chinese history. Thanks to the ability to speak English, I could discuss these topics related to China with friends who are interested in China. After that, most of them have became my friends now, which should give the credit to the ability to speak English actually. Besides, I had a friend who can speak a little bit Chinese. He also benefits from speaking Chinese a lot. One obvious advantage is that he has a lot of Chinese friends and even does business with his Chinese friends, which is highly meaningful for his life. Actually, my business thinking is also beneficial from speaking English. With the help of speaking English as a foreign language, I could catch up with the latest American business trends in time by reading related English books and magazines. Currently, I have already planned my future business plan, which is based on the transnational trade. I believe that the ability to speak English will be advantageous for me to realize my business plans. Apart from making friends and doing business with Americans, speaking English is also highly helpful for me to understand the American culture. When I was learning English, I have read some English books and watched a large number of English dramas, which will show the American cultures in various aspects. Therefore, I consider that speaking English could help people to learn the American culture at the same time, which will broaden the speakers’ horizons to some extent. Then, the expansive horizons could help these English speakers including me to generate more new ideas with the comprehensive consideration based on the different cultures.

Based on what has been discussed above, it could be concluded that speaking English could help people to make more American friends, understand the American culture more deeply, and also expand their horizons in the same time according to my own experiences.
